Red-necked Grebe, Horned Grebe; Tinemaha Reservoir

Sighting

It was a five-grebe day at Tinemaha on 11/16. In the late afternoon, a juvenille Red-necked Grebe was seen in the extreme southeast part of the reservoir, near the dam. The adult Horned Grebe was mixed in with ducks in the north-central part of the reservoir. To round out the day, the more expected Clark's, Western, and Eared Grebes were present and accounted for, including a still somewhat young and food-begging Western Grebe.
