Sighting

Noah Hamm and myself found a white-winged junco east of Bishop on Dec 22, 2000, and it was seen by others the same day, the bird stayed until late January to be photographed and was a life-bird for many including myself. It turned out to be the third record for California. Needless to say, this species is rare in the Eastern Sierra. Hope it stays around and keep us posted if you see it again.
