Bobolink

We spotted one fall plumage Bobolink this evening in the shrubs and annuals along the fence on the north side of an alfalfa field east of Independence. The spiky tail feathers gave it away and the lovely amber breast feathers confirmed it for us. Of course, we were prepared for this sighting by several years of autumn Bobolinks along this same fence row. So, Bishop Birders! Take a break from the sewer ponds and bird some alfalfa fields with vegetated fences. Bound to smell better.
