On 29 May an Eastern Kingbird was seen on Steward Lane (south of Big Pine) less than half a mile east of Hwy 395. It was flying along side the road and perched in the lowest branches of a tree on the south side. This species is seen annually in very small numbers from 18 May to 1 Oct.
