A glorious day became even brighter when a Gray Catbird perched in a dead shrub at the end of the boardwalk at County Park this morning around 11:00 am. Affording us good views in good light, this cooperative bird let us get him in the scopes so the whole class could see. Then Bartshe got a good digital photo that you can view at http://www.monolake.org/birds/_disc/0000008a.htm

Several parents birding for the first time are (I think) totally hooked! Not to mention the kids! oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the sight of 1.5 million eared grebes was awe inspiring.
