Crooked Creek Research Station Birds

Below is a list of birds I observed within the fence of the facility during the months of June thru October during the years of 2000 and 2001. Crooked Creek is located in the White Mountains, about 20 miles north of Westgard Pass, at an elevation of 10,150 feet. It is in Mono County, about 2 miles north of the Inyo County line. Habitat is buildings, sage brush, grassy field, small pond, rock outcrops, and a stand of Bristlecone and Limber Pines. Birds: Mallard, Northern Harrier, Sharped-shinned Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Red-Tailed Hawk, Golden Eagle, American Kestrel, Prairie Falcon, Greater Sage Grouse, Solitary Sandpiper, Spotted Sandpiper, Common Snipe, Wilson's Phalorope, Red-necked Phalorope, Mourning Dove, Broad-tailed Hummingbird, Rufous Hummingbird, Belted Kingfisher, Williamson's Sapsucker, Northern Flicker, Dusky Flycatcher, Black Phoebe, Say's Phoebe, Western Kingbird, Warbling Vireo, Stellar's Jay, Western Scrub Jay, Pinyon Jay, Clark's Nutcrackrer, Common Raven, Horned Lark, Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Violet-green Swallow, Mountain Chickadee, Red-breasted Nuthatch, White-breasted Nuthatch, Pygmy Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, House Wren, Rock Wren, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Townsend's Solitaire, Mountain Bluebird, American Robin, Hermit Thrush, Sage Thrasher, American Pipit, Orange-crowned Warbler, Nashville Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Townsend's Warbler, Hermit Warbler, MacGillivray's Warbler, Wilson's Warbler, Green-tailed Towhee, Sage Sparrow, American Tree Sparrow, Brewer's Sparrow, Chipping Sparrow, Savannah Sparrow, Vesper Sparrow, Lark Sparrow, Golden-crowned Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow, Lincoln's Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco, Chestnut-collared Longspur, Western Meadowlark, Brown-headed Cowbird, Red-winged Blackbird, Brewer's Blackbird, Evening Grosbeak, Cassin's Finch, House Finch, Red Crossbill, Pine Sisken.
