Description

I almost hit it! I saw it in a flash and thought,'Hey! That bird doesn't belong!' Got out and sussed it out of a rabbitbrush. Observed at 8 feet, white rects, white submoustachial, clear streaks on breast. I found nests for them this summer on our desert riparian project. Gaines' latest Mono Basin site is Oct 3. Exhilirating to know it was something funky after only a flash of brown zoomed past my bumper. Also, Golden-crowned Kinglets have arrived in Mono City!
