Great Egret over Bishop

Observers: Chris Howard and Rosie Beach
Email: choward@telis.org
Remote Name: 66.14.138.162
Date: 11/25/02
Time: 08:32 AM

Description

Although not as exciting as the scoters being seen, a large white egret with stout yellow bill and black legs and feet flew over the field west of Meadowcreek this morning. Great Egret is rare in the Owens Valley in winter according to the Heindel graphs. However, the Bishop Christmas Bird Count (CBC) has produced Great Egret the past three years in a row. Maybe this one will stick around until 14 Dec (CBC)!
