A second hummingbird shows up at White Mountain Estates

Sighting

A second female hummingbird, this time an Anna's, joined the female Costa's this morning (after 3" of powdery snow that then was dispersed by the wind) at the feeder. I assume its the feeder's proximity to the house (1-2 ft from my front window), and the warmth radiating from the structure (and resulting in higher electricity bills) that keeps the feeder from freezing. I think hummingbirds may be more present around here late in the year than i thought as i usually don't see them because by this time the feeders are down!
