Bohemian Waxwing in Bishop

A nice contingency of Bishop birders enjoyed a Bohemian Waxwing this morning (29 Nov) in Whitney Alley, behind Wilson's Eastside Sports. It was initially seen in the Bradford Pear trees behind Peggy Feigner's Office Supply and also returned later to feed on the abundant fruit. It was seen both singly and with a flock of ~30 Cedar Waxwings. The most obvious differences between it and the Cedar's were the rufous undertail coverts, larger size, and grayer breast. This is a bird of the north that rarely makes it this far south. The last time one was recorded in Inyo was 9 Jan 2002, when Debby Parker found one in Rocking K. Fun bird!
