Brewer's Sparrows singing @ BlackrockObservers: J. Zatorski SightingJust east of 395, heard the distinctive downward spiraling raspy whistle ending in a jumbled warble. After a few moments the somewhat dull gray-brown birds were seen singing from the tops of the brush. Also had a Leconte's Thrasher singing which seems a bit late for them to be singing as they are usually on nests by late March. Also heard many Sage Sparrows singing their raspy version of the Western Meadowlark song. Copyright Eastern Sierra Audubon Society. All Rights Reserved.
