Re: Whimbrel, Solitary Sandpiper @ Dixon Lane pond

Observers: Chris and Rosie Howard
Email: rosiebeach@yahoo.com
Verification: MONO
Remote Name: 72.47.2.150
Date: 04/22/2008
Time: 12:49 AM -0400

Sighting

As of 6:30 pm Monday, April 21 the Whimbrel was still at the pond east of Green Gate Cottonwoods. We scanned the pond from a distance and saw nothing. Then we approached the water and the Whimbrel flew up from behind some bushes and tall grass. It seems to prefer the southeast quadrant of the pond for feeding. The Solitary Sandpiper was in the "C"-Drain ditch in Green Gate Cots.
