An adult male Tricolored Blackbird, the 9th Inyo Co. record, was seen in Big Pine today, 14 Apr. All records are from mid Mar into very early Jun. The greater coverts are snow white and the lesser and median coverts are a carmine red, that is, a purple red compared to the orange red of a Red-wing. The bill is very slightly thinner and the overall plumage is a shiny black with a bluish reflection. It was at a feeding station in with Redwings (great comparison). Good Luck, T&J
