Also, don't miss the extraordinary show of wildflowers along the trail. You'll see acres of paintbrush, blue lupin, white lupin, penstamons, sulfur-flower, flox, larkspur, monkeyflower, columbine, shooting-stars, wallflowers, to name a few, and tons of others we don't know the names of.

If you decide to wander up the canyon, when you near the stream take the right-hand trail fork. Follow it upstream through the bushes for 1/4 mile to a multiple log crossing. Don't take the left trail (horse crossing).
