This week a pair of Lazuli Buntings have been feeding at least two young at the Independence Treelot, and continue to do so today, 21Aug99. Whether a late start or a second brood, this pair is still working on perpetuating its genome, in the company of Wilson's and MacGillivray's Warblers who are already on their way south. And Great Horned Owls are calling again after a long silence, signalling the beginning of their breeding season. Truly the best time of year. Period.
