Saturday Morning, 27 November 1999 from 8:15 AM to 9:45 AM in the company of Robb Hewitt, Steve Tucker, and two birders from Fresno, I viewed the Rufous-backed Robin in the yard of the white house surounded by a white fence. This house is just north of the Furnace Creek Ranch Post Office.

Reviewing the literature, one question comes to mind:

The robin's bill had a black tip. None of the literature mentions this, and none of the drawings show it. Is this attributed to age or anything else?

The winter male Bay-breasted Warbler made a few appearances inside the fence of the white-house yard.

On 11-28-99 there was a Common Loon on Tinemaha Reservoir just north of the dam. This reservoir is south of the town of Big Pine east of US 395 near MP 92.00 and 1.1 mile south of Fish Springs Road.
