This morning I thought I saw a long billed curlew flying away from me and to the south. It flew a lot like a gull but it had a moderately long decurved bill and the warm coloring of a Curlew. The bill looked about half as long as the adult bill depicted in NGS and I wonder if I could have seen a juvenile here at this time of year or if it might possibly have been a Whimbrel.
