We also had a good sized (40) flock of Yellow-headed Blackbirds at the 4-H Farm on Sunland Drive in Bishop over the weekend. Great views and what a cacophany!

I wonder if the tri-colored blackbirds you're seeing are actually Red-winged Blackbirds. Tri-colored are pretty rare on this side of the crest. In flight male Tri-coloreds usually show a white patch next to the red in the wing, whereas Red-winged show a yellow patch next to the red. The male Red-wingeds in Bishop are really looking sharp these days!
