Yesterday at lunch I saw an amazing number of birds near my house on may st. The trees were full of Western Tanagers, Cedar Waxwings and, Black Headed Grosbeaks, The best of all though, was a very orangy 2nd year Summer Tanager. The Tanager had lots of red on the tail and flight feathers as well as the rump but the breast and flanks were almost a robin's orangy red. Suprisingly the head and the upper back were a dull brownish color. This morning there were still tons of birds in the fruit trees in town though.
