On Sat. March 24,North Haiwee had low water and very quiet for birds. 2 blue-winged teals and poor views of red-breasted mergs. Sage Flat had a rufous hummer and oak titmouse. On Sunday,March 25,Birchim was quiet except for a hermit thrush, house wren (which we only heard) and 25 cliff swallows, which were our first for the season. Round Valley had a juvenile plumaged rough-legged hawk, pale brown. Western bluebirds still present on the fence on way to Paradise Lodge near Inyo/Mono Co line. At lodge, our second hermit thrush of the day and red-naped sapsucker.
