Four LB Curlews and two Whimbrels on an irrigated pasture east of Independence today. The Whimbrels, once a bird seen only casually in Inyo, come every spring to the same field in Independence in varying numbers. They were accompanied today by three WF Ibis and two Great Egrets.

P.S. Today's nasty dust is blown here from the Gobi Desert in China, according to an article in the Reno Gazette. Watch for Chinese birds!
