Today at Owens Lake Bob, Mike, Nancy and I had three tiny Snowy Plover chicks and their dad at the Sulfate Well, three Red-necked Phalaropes (a day early?)- one at Dirty Socks, one at Cartago, and one at Ash Creek. All three were female and were alone. At Cottonwood we had a Marbled Godwit and 6-12 Black-bellied Plovers. The Elk Spot held 4000 peeps, mostly Westerns, and 54 Dunlin. At the Delta we saw a Peregrine grooming itself, stretching out its long wings and had a Merlin swoop down on a peep. A great day for birding.
