The Eastern Sierra Audubon Society is sponsoring a field trip to River Springs in Adobe Valley (between Benton and Mono Lake on Hwy 120) on Saturday, June 2nd. Meet at the "Y", behind the Shell gas station at the intersection of Hwy 395 and Hwy 6 at 8:00AM to carpool. If coming from Mammoth or Lee Vining, meet at Black Lake, about 5 miles west of Benton on Hwy 120 at 9:00AM. We will explore the marshy areas of River Springs searching for breeding birds such as Wilson's Phalarope, American Bittern, and Sage Thrasher. Bring irrigation boots or old shoes that can get muddy, a lunch, water, binoculars and scopes. The trip is open to everyone interested and should conclude by 2:00PM.
