While driving north of Billy Lakes on the fault road, I saw what apperaed to be a WWD flying south. The bird had white greater wing coverts unlike a Mourning. The tail was a shorter than a Mourning, and the body was stockier than a Mourning also. When I stopped to listen for a call the bird had either flew too far to hear or wasn't calling. This bird is common in southern Arizona where I saw many of then this spring, but does anyone know of the distribution for this species here in the Owens Valley?
