On 27 Oct a group birded Owens Valley wetspots and found an adult male Peregrine Falcon and 4 Ross's Geese at Cottonwood Marsh, Owens Lake, and Judy Wickman found 2 Red-necked Phalarope at Dirty Socks. On 28 Oct a group birded Death Valley and found another Peregrine Falcon, 1 Merlin, 1 Common Moorhen, 12 Lewis's Woodpeckers, 1 female Vermilion Flycatcher, 2 Western Scrub-Jays, 2 Clay-colored Sparrows, 2 Swamp Sparrows, and 1 White-throated Sparrow. Chris Howard and Rosie Beach found an American Crow at an unusual location, Stovepipe Wells.
