This grosbeak was singing near some Black-headed Grosbeaks in the woods where the trail opens up into the sun and the mill is visible. 2 switchbacks above that a Swainson's Thrush was heard well. Heindel's graph shows them gone from our area by now to nest up north of here. A Pac-slope Flycatcher was heard along the shady lower part of trail.
