Description

R. Gates found a rare Hermit Thrush today on lower Rush Creek. I observed a hatch year House Wren at 4m, in bitterbrush, on Wilson Creek east of US395. Pale outer primaries, and wheezing like a gnatcatcher with a frog in its throat (something I have only observed from HOWR in the fall). Also on Wilson today: a HY Sage Sparrow, and a Mourning Dove foraging in natural habitat - the few I have recently seen are always at feeders. Speaking of feeders, our Z.l. oriantha is still living on handouts next door.
