Description

Last night, a Barn Swallow spent the night locked in our garage! We expect it took refuge when we had the door open for half an hour yesterday evening. This morning, when it wasn't nervously flitting around, it had a tendency to hang on the window screens, fanning its long forked tail and showing its broad, creamy subterminal tail-band. Upon opening the garage door it flew out, gradually gaining altitude and heading northward. Then it re-found its bearings and headed south. This marks the latest record in Inyo. Debbie House and Jon Dunn found the previous late record on 14 Dec 2002 in Round Valley on the Bishop CBC. We couldn't help but wonder if this was the same individual Jon and Debbie saw!
