The warbler was seen on the west side of the canal coming down the trunk of a large cottonwood about 40-50 feet in from the gate. When first spotted its head was tilted down and the top of its crown could be seen, showing a distinct white central crown stripe with two black lateral crown stripes. Hooray! We missed seeing a Black & White last year in Inyo County and maybe the previous year too, got to check our records. Might be a young male, need to check the books.
