Description

Silent, with only wing sounds, these larger birds came into the cottonwoods, caught their distinctive white and black below pattern as they flew off. Tues. 2 calling Pinyon Jays were flying north across the valley near Greengate. There's been an Anna's Hummer in here also of late. An Empid was "whitting", flicking tail rapidly up and had an all pale lower mandible but stayed hidden behind the cot leaves, no ID made. The Whit was low and sort of raspy.
