Our personal "never-not-birding" experience: jolted awake last night by a CoPo repeating its two note call about eight times, just outside our house. We later watched it - or another goatsucker - darting back and forth under the full moon, close to the ground, dead silent, ghostly. Tonight, it's back, flying right up to the open window, not three feet from our astonished faces. Life is good.
