Lewis's Woodpecker and Mountain Chickadees in Greengate Cottonwoods N. of Dixon

The shiny dark green and rosey breast was seen on the woodpecker as it flew off a branch flycatching for insects. It caught a large winged one, which was probably a dragonfly. It was just N. or the shady lane of Greengate Cots flycatching from a willow to the east. Chickadees were singing in the cottonwoods, somewhat unusual down in the valley. Sage & Vesper Sparrow also.
