Wow...what a day at Mono Lake! We missed the Proto Warbler and Grasshopper Sparrow, but were excited to see our first Yellow-shafted Flicker in the willows at Mono Lake's Rush Creek Delta. It was a female (no moustache stripe). Also, we missed the high numbers of Ring-billed Gulls Leah had yesterday (17)...we had 5, all in first basic plumage. Also, 1 Snowy Egret and 4 Greater Yellowlegs. What a place, that Mono Lake, especially on a stunning October day like today!
