Yesterday, 19 Oct, Bob Steele found a Gray Catbird at the College and Susan Steele found a Chestnut-collared Longspur at the Lake.  The longspur was challenging, but prominent features on this bland-looking sparrow included a very short primary projection past the tertials, and black patches starting to show on the belly.  Other neat birds were two Golden-crowned Sparrows, a Lewis's Woodpecker, 2 Stellar's Jays, and a female Wood Duck.
