Sighting

On 30 Oct an adult Pacific Loon, first winter Surf Scoter and late American Avocet were at Klondike Lake. The loon is 3 weeks later than the earliest ever arrival, that is, it is on time! The scoter is 2 weeks later than the earliest ever arrival, that is, it is right on time! The avocet is unusual in that they are usually only reported from Owens Lake at this time of the year.
