On 1 Nov we had an adult Pacific Loon and 1 Spotted Sandpiper at Tinemaha Reservoir. The loon is occurring at the expected time but almost all Pacific reports are of immature birds so an adult is exceptional. The sandpiper is extremely late with only 3 other records later. One Bonaparte's Gull was at Klondike Lake which is not unexpected but the fact that it was a juvenile, born this year, is significant as it is the first juv reported. At Tinemaha there were 6 others and one was another juvenile. Almost all Western Bluebirds were at Fish Springs (9) and Steward Lane (12) during a time when they are rarely reported. A Brewer's Sparrow was at Fish Springs which is the second latest ever, the latest being 2 Nov. The pale lores and brownish rump not contrasting with the back were well seen.
