Christmas morning brought an adult Harris's Sparrow to our feeder. Shortly after receiving that present, two collared doves showed up that we couldn't call anything but Eurasian Collared-Dove. These are the first we've seen, although there have been a few other sightings in the Bishop area in the past couple years. There are a few Ringed Turtle-Dove flocks around Bishop, cage-bird escapees, that are easily confused with Eurasian Collared-Dove (See Sibley). The first marks we saw which fit Eurasian were the ashy-gray undertail covers flanked by black patches at the base of the tail. They were fairly stocky and mid-gray backed with some brownish tones to the wings. Happy holidays!
