Sighting

Today in the willows and marshy area just west of Owens River in Lone Pine were: a male Bullock's Oriole calling, a Solitary Sandpiper foraging at the edge of a small pond, and a Virginia Rail which I got a great look at. The first time I've ever seen one rather than just heard it. And just as I was leaving, a mink swam by and disappeared into its den in the streambank.
