Sighting

Yesterday at Crowley Lake I had a juvenile Thayer's Gull. It was in the company of perhaps six hundred California Gulls at the Owens River arm of the Lake, initially on the water and then standing on the shore. It was mid afternoon and probably had been at the dump in the morning. Other species of note included 49 Tundra Swans, 8 Cackling Geese ("Aleutian" subspecies), 4 Gr. White-fronted Geese and 4 Hooded Mergansers (dam). I saw a single adult Herring Gull at the northwest arm.
