On 30 Nov a hybrid Nuttall's X Ladder-backed Woodpecker was found at Fish Springs. It had a dark face and two dark bars on the outer tail feather like a Nuttall's. It had most of the crown red, no dark in the upper back, buffy below and the nasal tufts were buffy like a Ladder-back. The call was a single note, non-burry PEEK that is atypical of either species.
