Tinemaha Reservoir hosts good birds

On 5 Dec at Tinemaha Reservoir other good birds were seen beside the Rusty Blackbird. A Horned Grebe (rare in Dec), 10 Hooded Mergansers (males displaying to each other), 2 adult Bald Eagles (found by Jon Dunn), 1 Tree Swallow (casual in Dec), and 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (found by Jim Parker, casual in Dec). Seven Tundra Swans are continuing. Other uncommon but secretive birds were American Bittern (Jon Dunn), Virginia Rail (Chris Howard, and Sora (Jon Dunn).
