Sighting

As we watched the adult bald eagles thru the scopes from the dam at quite a distance, one of us noted that the eagle was floating on the water like a duck. Looking thru the scope the eagle in fact looked as if it was sitting on the water & then I watched as it used its huge wings to "row" along forward with the wings dipped into the water like canoe paddles. We figured it might have been on a duck/coot and was trying to get it out of the water but first maybe wearing it down etc. It then took its prey to a snag in the water and began plucking while the other eagle looked on.
