At midafternoon on Sunday, March 13,2005, we saw a male Red-breasted Merganser near the middle of the Reservoir. It was fairly close to shore, and the chestnut breast, white neck band, green head, grayer sides and white verticle shoulder spots were clearly seen by all 7 in our group. Several female Common Mergansers were on the Reservoir, but it was not swimming with them.
