Sighting

On 24 April we spent most of the morning at Aspendell looking for Rosy-Finchs. A possible Brown-capped Rosy Finch was recently reported on this web site, which would be a first state record if accepted by the CBRC. We searched every street looking for feeding stations and flocks of birds. We found at least 60 Rosy-Finches all looking like bright adult Gray-crowns except for one or two. These birds were very dull brown, lacked pink, and still showed a very dull and obscure gray side of face and hindcrown. We did not see anything that looked like the pictures of the bird taken a week ago by Sharon Ford. That said, we are not confident that we saw all the Rosy-Finches that reside in Aspendell!
