Driving into Bishop this morning spotted three Swainson's Hawks over the Laws fields including two clasping talons. Also, quite the variety of birds (23 species in the yard yesterday) in the yard at White Mtn. Estates (near Chalfant): Highlights included a pair of Black-headed Grosbeaks, Bullock's Orioles, three species of hummers (Anna's, Black-chinned and Costa's); numerous Cassin's Finches; a few Pine Siskins, and other more common birds American Robin, Western Kingbirds, California Quail, etc. WOW!
