Sighting

This morning, June 16,2005, a male Bufflehead, 9 White-faced Ibis and juvenile pied-billed grebes were seen at Nik&Nik ponds. Also a hunting Northern Harrier made two passes over the pond & sandy hills disturbing Bank Swallows that probably came out of their nest holes, approx. 50 birds. The Harrier carried off larger prey, couldn't tell what it was, although, there were Killdeer chasing the Harrier and they looked & sounded pretty upset. A Caspian Tern was at the McNally pond, which is just east of Nik&Nik's ponds on dirt road to Hwy 6.
