This morning (10 July), we viewed the Nik and Nik west pond from the south fence/road. We got distant but good views of 2 Least Bitterns, and adult and a juvenile, both perched in the reedy edges and in flight. At one point the juv was begging for food from the adult, blurry digiscopes below. While we were leaving, the juvenile, we think, flew over the isthmus to the next big reed patch to the east.
