Sighting

Yesterday, at the scenic turn-out on Hwy. 395, I spotted 3 large black lumps on the ice just past the finger of land on the north side of McGee Creek Bay. I stopped and binoc'd them--very large, no white on the heads, but lots of mottled white in the underwings and tail as they slid and fell on the ice. I presume they were picking at the carcass of a dead fish embedded in the ice. It was comical watching them. They resorted to sitting on their rumps to keep from losing their footing.
