Sighting

On Jan 29 at about 11:00 AM heard the clear Mockingbird-like repetitions and had good looks at one of the three or so birds heard singing. The song differs from Northern Mockingbird by only having 1-2 repetitions per imitation where as the NOMO generally has 3-4, and the tone is deeper than the NOMO also. I also like to listen for the call note which is distinctive for LETH which is a 2-syllabled "chirup" or "syrup" like call note to separate it from the possible Sage Thrasher which sings somewhat similar to the LETH but sings a bit faster to me and has a different call. This is a FOS for me in here in the Owens Valley.
