Sighting

On the 16th, in the evening, a Nighthawk was spotted flying over our yard in Bishop. It was evening and not perfect light but the characteristic wing beats and body shape were easy to see. Its distinctive call is what captured my attention initially. I think Common Nighthawks don't show up until a bit later in spring but this wasn't a good enough look for me to distinguish between the two species and I don't know both their calls. Earlier in the same day a flock of about 45 White Faced Ibis flew over us while we had lunch in the Bishop Park. Good birding.
